ℹ️

White-Label is a $999/month add-on (or $9,999/year, about two months free) available on the Studio Pro plan and above. It is included for free on Enterprise.

Getting Started

You’ll need to be on the Studio Pro plan (or Enterprise), and you must be an owner or admin of your organization to purchase or configure White-Label.

1

Open White-Label settings

In the dashboard, go to Settings -> Whitelabel. If you’re on Studio Pro, you’ll see an option to add White-Label for $999/mo (or $9,999/yr). Add it to unlock the configuration options.

ℹ️

Only organization owners and admins can purchase or change White-Label settings. If you don’t see the option, ask an owner or admin on your team.

2

Set your branding

In the Branding section, set your company name, primary and secondary colors (as hex values like #4F46E5), logo, and favicon. These replace “Chipp” everywhere in the dashboard, emails, and login screens.

Click Save. Saving your branding creates your white-label workspace, which unlocks the Domains options in the next step.

3

Connect your domain

In the Domains section (available after saving your branding in Step 2), you have two options:

  • Subdomain (quickest): claim a free yourname.chipp.ai subdomain. SSL is handled automatically with no DNS setup needed.
  • Custom domain (fully branded): connect your own domain (e.g. app.yourbrand.com). See the DNS steps below.

4

Customize login and emails (optional)

Use the Authentication and Email sections to control sign-in methods and send branded transactional emails. See the sections below.

Setting Up Your White-Label Domain

This is the domain for your platform dashboard (e.g. app.yourbrand.com). It is separate from the per-app chatbot custom domains covered in the Custom Domains guide.

The Domains section (under Settings -> Whitelabel) has two sub-sections:

  • Subdomain: claim a free yourname.chipp.ai subdomain instantly. No DNS configuration required. Use this to get your branded platform live right away.
  • Custom Domain: connect your own domain (e.g. app.yourbrand.com). Follow the steps below to configure DNS and activate SSL.

Important: the Domains section only appears after you have saved your branding (company name) in the Branding section. Saving branding creates your white-label workspace.

1

Add a CNAME record

At your domain registrar, add a CNAME record pointing your chosen subdomain to Chipp:

TypeNameValue
CNAMEapp (or your subdomain)fallback.chipp.ai
ℹ️

Use a subdomain (like app. or dashboard.) rather than your root domain. It keeps your main website separate and makes DNS simpler.

2

Register the domain in Chipp

On Settings -> Whitelabel -> Domains, in the Custom Domain area, enter your domain (no https://, no www.) and click Register. If you do not see the Custom Domain area yet, save your branding first (it creates your white-label workspace). Chipp will then show you the DNS records to add for SSL validation and ownership verification (typically a _acme-challenge CNAME record plus one or more TXT records).

3

Add the validation records

Copy the exact records Chipp shows you and add them at your registrar, matching each record’s type (some are CNAME, some are TXT). These values are unique to your domain; don’t use values from any example.

4

Wait for SSL to activate

Chipp automatically provisions an SSL certificate. The status moves from pending to active, usually within a few minutes (occasionally up to a couple of hours). Use Check Status to refresh. Once it’s active, your branded platform is live on your domain.

DNS by Provider

The CNAME target is always fallback.chipp.ai. A few common registrars:

  • Cloudflare: add a CNAME, set proxy status to DNS only (gray cloud), not proxied.
  • GoDaddy: DNS -> Add -> CNAME, value fallback.chipp.ai.
  • Namecheap: Advanced DNS -> Add CNAME, value fallback.chipp.ai.
  • Route 53: Create Record -> CNAME -> value fallback.chipp.ai.
⚠️

On Cloudflare, make sure the record is DNS only (gray cloud). Leaving the proxy on (orange cloud) prevents the domain from validating.

Branding Your Dashboard

In the Branding section, what you set appears across the whole experience:

SettingWhere it shows
Company namePage titles, emails, buttons
Primary colorButtons, links, focus states, loading bars
Secondary colorAccent and supporting UI elements
LogoNavigation bar, login screen, emails
FaviconBrowser tab

When you save, branding syncs to Chipp’s edge network. On a custom domain it can take a few minutes to fully propagate.

Customizing Dashboard Login

The Authentication section controls how your team signs in to the builder dashboard. It does not affect how end users log in to your chat apps.

  • Show or hide Google sign-in.
  • Show or hide Microsoft sign-in.
  • Show or hide email/password sign-in.

Branded Emails

In the Email section you can send transactional emails from your own domain:

  • Set a From Email address and a From Name (e.g. hello@yourbrand.com and Acme Support).
  • Customize the verification code (OTP), password reset, welcome, and organization invite email templates. Placeholders such as {{appName}}, {{code}}, {{inviterName}}, {{organizationName}}, and {{orgRole}} are filled in where appropriate.
  • Verify your sender domain by adding the DKIM, SPF, and DMARC DNS records Chipp provides, so your emails authenticate and stay out of spam.

Hiding Platform Features

In the Features section you can simplify what your team sees:

  • Hide the billing UI (useful for resellers who don’t want clients seeing wholesale costs).
  • Hide the help center and its support links.

Reselling to Clients (Agency Billing)

If you run an agency and want to resell AI apps to your clients, add Client Management on top of White-Label. It lets you connect your own Stripe account, send invoices, track per-client usage, and pass through costs, all under your brand. See your billing settings to add it.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need Enterprise to use White-Label?

No. White-Label is available as a $999/mo (or $9,999/yr) add-on on the Studio Pro plan. It is included for free on Enterprise.

Will my users ever see “Chipp”?

No. With branding and a custom domain configured, the Chipp name and logo are replaced everywhere: dashboard, login, and emails.

What logo should I upload?

The Branding section uses a single logo. Upload one that reads well on both light and dark backgrounds, a transparent PNG usually works best.

Who on my team can configure White-Label?

Only organization owners and admins can purchase or change White-Label settings.

How long until my custom domain works?

Once your DNS records are in place, SSL usually activates within a few minutes, occasionally up to a couple of hours. Use Check Status to monitor it.

What is the difference between the platform domain and per-app custom domains?

The platform domain (configured under Settings -> Whitelabel -> Domains) is where your builder dashboard lives: the interface your team uses to build and manage apps. Per-app custom domains are the URLs your end users visit to chat with your AI apps. Both are supported; they are configured in different places. See the Custom Domains guide for per-app domains.
