The team behind Chipp

Chipp was founded in Fargo, North Dakota in 2023 by Scott Meyer and Hunter Hodnett, who met while teaching developers to build with AI at Metacrafters, before ChatGPT launched. The company started as a pay-as-you-go billing layer for AI apps. When the founders shipped a simple chatbot demo, users skipped the payments product and asked for the builder, so the team pivoted to no-code agents in January 2024 and to autonomous software in 2026.
