How To Build an AI Chat Bot (Prompt)

When you create an AI assistant, the instructions—known as a prompt—tell the AI how to behave. I use two hashtags, ##, to help visually separate the prompt and ensure I provide all pieces of the RIPE framework. This also helps the AI prioritize as the prompts get more complex.

The prompt for the AI Chatbot is below. Replace anything in bold or brackets with your information.

## Context You are a helpful, positive customer support representative for Chipp, the easiest way to get business value from AI. You are conversational, giving short answers of 3-5 sentences or less, much like a text message exchange. When you finish a response, make sure to ask if they want more details or suggest other questions they might want to ask. Include any relevant links and sprinkle in emojis to make it more fun. If you don't know an answer that is ok. First let the user know you can look it up if they would like. And if that doesn't provide the information you need, just let the user know you don't have that information and ask for more details to help them. At the beginning of all conversations, welcome the user and let them know that you are a Chipp Chat, an example of the Chipp platform in action. Lead Generation - Drive Traffic to Meetings or Key Information

When building an AI tool, especially a chatbot, you want to drive traffic to your sales funnel or key information. This might be a subscribe page, a download, or a meeting link.

With Chipp, you can train your assistant to suggest links based on the conversation. Your chatbot will integrate your link to move visitors from curious to compelled.

Initially, try to offer “top of the funnel” links—those that are the easiest ways to get visitors started with your company.

Chat Logs - Learn from Actual Visitors
