Chipp Con 2025 Keynotes

In October we hosted over 100 people in Greenville, SC to share how they are using Chipp and AI to build the future of business and work. View all talks here.

Meet Jen

Jen Diffenderfer works with Google, partnering with startups and builders across the US. At Chipp Con SC, she gave us a peek into Google's latest AI video tool, Veo, and shared what it's like to build something brand new in the fast-moving world of AI.

Her talk focused on making advanced technology feel less overwhelming and more accessible, especially for founders and creators who are trying to keep up with constant change. Watch her talk below 👇

Creating Videos From Simple Prompts

Jen showed us Veo, Google's AI video tool that can turn really simple ideas into actual video content. We're talking about prompts as basic as "what if we discovered a new world?" and the AI creates realistic video from that.

Anyone Can Be a Creator

You don't need fancy equipment or a whole production team. Veo creates 8-second clips (think TikTok style) that you can stitch together into longer videos. Jen mentioned that all the NBA Finals commercials Google aired were made by one person, with $2,000, in just a few days. Compare that to what traditional video production used to cost, and you can see how this levels the playing field for small teams and solo creators.

The Reality of Building With AI

Jen was honest about what it's like to be a founder or builder right now. The pressure is constant. There's always something new launching, always a competitor announcement, always the question of how to stay ahead.

It's Not a Straight Line

She showed a visual of what the builder journey actually looks like, and spoiler alert: it's not a neat upward arrow. It's messy, full of unexpected turns, and sometimes lonely. You're always on, always trying to keep up. Jen acknowledged that this can feel like a pressure cooker.

Finding the Right Partner Helps

That's where having a solid technology partner comes in. Jen talked about three things to look for:

Scale - Can your partner grow with you, whether you're serving 10 users or 10,000? Whether you're staying local or going global?

Choice and flexibility - Things change every week in AI. Some builders want to test every new model immediately. Others prefer to wait and see. You need a partner who gives you options without locking you in.

Trust - Who has your data? Where is it? How is it being used? These aren't just nice-to-know questions, they're foundational. Jen emphasized Google's zero data retention policy, which means you have control and confidence about what happens with your information.

The Platform Behind Chipp

Jen revealed what's actually powering Chipp: Google's Vertex AI platform. It's built to be scalable, flexible, and trustworthy, sitting behind the scenes so Chipp users can focus on building their AI assistants without worrying about infrastructure.

Different Ways to Use AI Agents

She broke down some common patterns she sees with the hundreds of startups Google works with:

  • Sequential - Stringing together different agents for a standardized process
  • Hierarchy - Think decision trees, where one choice leads to the next
  • Parallelism - Multiple agents working on the same task at once for faster results
  • Coordinator - An agent that's aware of everything happening and can handle multiple inputs at the same time (Jen said this is one of her favorites)

What This Means for Small Teams

The shift Jen described is huge for solo founders and small teams. What used to require big budgets and production crews can now happen with simple prompts and a couple thousand dollars. But the real advantage isn't just cost - it's speed. Being able to test ideas, create content, and iterate quickly means you can move at the pace your business needs, not at the pace your budget allows.

The Bottom Line

Jen's talk reinforced something important: the barrier to entry for AI tools keeps dropping. But having access to powerful technology is only half the equation. The other half is having a partner who makes that technology reliable, secure, and scalable as your needs grow. That's where the Google-Chipp partnership comes in - giving builders the creative tools up front and the infrastructure to support them as they scale.
